Air Canada is the country’s largest domestic and international airline serving more than 200 airports on six continents.
But the country’s flag carrier is also a huge supporter of community-level institutions and organizations, including Dalhousie University.
During Dal’s 200th anniversary this year, the airline stepped up to help bring speakers to the campus for the many of the events on tap, including those taking part in the Belong Forums – a series that included Angela Davis, Mark Tewksbury, Buffy Sainte-Marie and more.
In a commitment to the communities where its employees and customers call home, the airline takes part on many charitable endeavours.
“Here is the part of our story that I am proudest of,” Calin Rovinescu, Air Canada’s president and chief executive said during a speech about his company’s accomplishments. “(We) made a meaningful contribution to rescue efforts with Syrian refugees as well as in places decimated by natural disasters like Haiti, the Caribbean, Fort McMurray — and to the health and well-being of children with numerous Air Canada Foundation initiatives.”
The Air Canada Foundation is dedicated to the health and wellness of children and youth. The foundation’s mission is to help connect sick children to the medical care they need, alleviate child poverty and make the wishes of ill kids come true by supporting pediatric hospitals, providing assistance to charitable organizations and raising funds.
